Medical Doctor with Specialist Interest in Allergy
Dr. E. Joe FitzGibbon qualified in Medicine from the National University of Ireland, Galway, in 1981. After his internship he studied laboratory medicine at the Royal Liverpool Hospital, UK. 1984 was spent in a voluntary capacity as medical officer to the Ameva Bible School, Zimbabwe. On returning to Europe he started vocational training for general practice, completing the certificate of Prescribed Experience in 1988, and receiving Diplomas in Obstetrics and Gynaecology (1987) and Geriatric Medicine (1988 ).
Fellowship training
Dr. FitzGibbon became interested in other aspects of Nutritional Medicine and completed a Masters degree in Nutritional Medicine at the University of Surrey, Guildford, UK in 2002. In 2017 he was awarded a Masters degree in Allergy, with distinction, by the University of Southampton, UK in 2017.
