Our Emergency Department provides you with consultant-led rapid access to expert assessment and treatment. Our service is for patients aged 16 years and over.
We treat patients with:
- breathing and heart complaints
- minor injuries, sprains and strains
- fractures
- cuts and wounds
- medical conditions

Our Emergency Department is a rapid access service run by specialist Emergency Medicine Consultants. Our team has access to state-of-the-art resources including:
- urgent cardiac diagnostics
- advanced radiology services
- cardiac catheterisation laboratory
- medical and surgical wards
- theatre and intensive care unit
- on-site laboratory
Insurance
Not all services are covered by health insurance. To find out if you're covered, contact your health insurance provider before your visit.
Payment
All patients who visit our Emergency Department will need to pay a consultation fee of €225 on the day of the appointment.
You will also need to pay for any tests you have during that appointment. You might be able to claim fees on your insurance or your taxes using a Med 1 form.
If you don't have health insurance or your health plan does not cover the full cost, you'll need to pay on the day of your visit.
If you need to submit an insurance excess or pay inpatient fees after a stay at the Hermitage Clinic, you can pay your bill online.
Our Emergency Department has a capped spend of €650 for outpatient services. This means that you will not pay more than €650, even if the cost of your tests is greater.
