Consultant Cardiologist
Dr. Sharif is a consultant cardiologist with a particular interest in cardiac electrophysiology. Having obtained his honours medical degree from the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland and following basic medical training at the Mater Hospital, he then received higher specialist training in cardiology at Cork, Tallaght and Beaumont Hospitals. He subsequently completed two years subspecialty training during a fellowship in cardiac electrophysiology (the management of heart rhythm disorders) at Harvard Medical School’s largest affiliated hospital, Massachusetts General Hospital, Boston.
Fellowship training
Accredited in cardiology and echocardiography by the European Society in Cardiology (ESC) and by the European Heart Rhythm Association in cardiac implantable electronic devices, Dr. Sharif has been a speaker for the Irish Heart Foundation, Irish Cardiac Society and the American College of Cardiology. He has published in international peer review journals including Circulation EP, Journal of the American College of Cardiology, Heart Rhythm O2 and regularly has presented work nationally and internationally including at the European Society of Cardiology and Heart Rhythm Society meetings in the US. He has a keen interest in teaching and sport.
