Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon

Mr. Sayana graduated in medicine and completed postgraduate training in Orthopaedics at Osmania Medical College, India. He spent some time working in the NHS, UK, including a year as an ‘Implant Research Fellow” in Stoke-on- Trent under guidance of Mr. Charles Wynn-Jones and Prof. Nicola Maffulli.

He then moved to Ireland in 2006 and completed Higher Surgical Training in Trauma & Orthopaedics under the auspices of IITOS, RCSI, Dublin. From there then moved to Royal Orthopaedic Hospital, Birmingham, UK, for post-CCST fellowship in the field of Hip & Knee Arthroplasty including revision surgery, training under Mr. Andrew Thomas for the year.

Some of his key specialities include: treatment for fractures and soft tissues, management of elective conditions like arthritis, based on the best evidence-base available; revision hip and knee arthroplasty. 

Clinical research

Mr. Sayana has more than 20 peer-reviewed Scientific Publications in various journals & authored 8 chapters in different textbooks.

He also reviews manuscripts for the following Journals:

CORR (Clinical Orthopaedics & Related Research),
EJOS (European Journal of Orthopaedic Surgery),
IJMS (Irish Journal of Medical Sciences).
