Our cardiothoracic team provides advanced diagnostics for the evaluation and planning of your treatment.
Our team work closely with colleagues in our Cardiology, Vascular and Respiratory departments.
Who we treat
We provide outpatient services to patients who need assessment and diagnosis for a range of issues. This includes:
- emphysema
- fibrosis
- congenital heart disease
- aortic disease
- valvular heart disease
- congenital heart disease
What to expect
Once you've been referred, you'll receive an appointment from our consultant cardiothoracic team.
You'll be seen as an outpatient in one of our dedicated suites. We may need to run some diagnostic tests when you come in. These may include:

Procedures
At Hermitage Clinic, we provide an outpatient and diagnostic service only.
If you need surgery, your consultant will arrange this with one of our group hospitals, Blackrock Clinic or Galway Clinic as suits.
Insurance
Not all services are covered by health insurance. To find out if you're covered, contact your health insurance provider before your visit.

Payment
If you do not have health insurance or your health plan does not cover the full cost, you will need to pay on the day of your visit.
You might be able to claim fees on your insurance.
If you need to submit an insurance excess or pay inpatient fees after a stay at the Hermitage Clinic, you can pay your bill online.
