Speech and language therapists are involved in the assessment, diagnosis and treatment of a variety of conditions that can affect speech, language, voice, swallowing or communication.
Who we treat
Speech and language problems may arise as a result of some of the following conditions:
- stroke
- Parkinson's disease
- multiple sclerosis
- motor neurone disease
- dementia
- Alzheimer's
- head and neck cancers
- acute trauma
What to expect
At your consultation, we'll run through your medical history. A Speech and Language Therapist will then conduct a specialised assessment of the issue you're experiencing. This will help them develop a treatment plan. You may need to be referred for additional tests for us to be able to fully diagnose the issue..
